The foremost goal of these thesis is to take a close look at the status quo of the progress of general education, cyber education and information in Africa-focusing on Zimbabwe. Furthermore a seek of possible role for Korea in this procedure of educational development, especially in information process will be attempted.
In Chapter 1, a close look at the status quo of Africa is taken. Africa is a large continent where diverse language, cultures, ethic groups and religions are intermingled, but which are bonded together with one community conscience. Africa is no longer a mere underdeveloped continent but it is rather a lively world where primitive cultures and leading edge technologies coexist.
In Chapter 2, the history, culture, economy and geographical characteristic of Zimbabwe are looked upon. Especially the arduous effort by Zimbabwe toward the education is scrutinized through the prism of its modern history. Through the history of Zimbabwe, a grief mentioning of why African continent fell behind in keeping up with the other continents in terms of civilization is made.
In Chapter 3, a comparison of the educational system and the status quo of cyber education of Zimbabwe with those of other Africa countries is made. visits of college home pages of African countries are made with occasional analysis.
In Chapter 4, a comparison of the cyber education in Africa with that of other continents such as North America, Asia and Europe is made. Recently African countries-especially Zimbabwe-are trying arduous effort to improve the quality of their lives with the help of education. Western developed countries have been offering humongous amount of financial aid for the construction of that effort already started to come to fruition gradually, it is mentioned in this chapter.
In Chapter 5, prospect of information of Africa together with its righteous orientation is suggested. Further, through taking a glimpse of an example in which an American college provided an Africa college with support, the desirable role of developed countries in furtherance of educational development, especially in cyber educational development is sought.
In concluding thesis, a possible role of Korea in This cooperational trend is suggested.
