To examine the effect of yoga performance as the rehabilitation program for low back pain, we analysed the thickness changes of multifidus and the level of decreased low back pain in CLBP middle-aged women. The 16 experimental subjects were novice yoga performers and they were not favorable other exercises. We divided 16 subjects into yoga group(n=8) and control group(n=8). The 36 times of yoga was performed 60 minutes at once, 3 times a week and for 12 weeks. The results of this study were presented as follows: 1. In yoga group, the thickness of multifidus(p<.01) was significantly increased and visual analogue scale(VAS)(p<.001) was significantly declined after the yoga performance. 2. In control group, no change was searched. Therefore, yoga performance has a significant effect on the change of thickness of multifidus and decreasing low back pain. In addition, yoga performance can be useful for middle-aged women to prevent low back pain and to solve the exercise deficiency.
