메타버스 가상공간에서 기독교적 소통과 공감의 가능성 연구

국문 초록 (Abstract)

현실 세계와 가상세계가 온라인을 통해 상호연결되어 상호작용하고 있는 메타버스 가상공간 속에서 교회공동체는 사람들과 어떻게 소통하고, 그들과 어떤 방식으로 공감할 것인지에 대한 고민이 필요한 시점이 되었다. 본 연구는 메타버스와 같은 가상공간 안에서 이루어지는 소통 활동이 과연 사람들 간의 공감으로까지 연결될 수 있는지, 그리고 가상 공간에서의 소통이 기독교적 공감으로까지 연결될 수 있는가에 대한 질문에서 시작되었다. 본 연구의 목적은 메타버스 가상공간 안에서 기독교적 공감 형성을 위한 의사소통의 방향성을 모색하는 것이다. 이를 위해 먼저 인터넷 네 트워크의 등장 과정과 새로운 의사소통의 장으로서 메타버스 가상공간 에 관해 살펴보았다. 다음으로 메타버스 가상공간에서 기독교 커뮤니 케이션의 공감 형성의 필요성을 제시하였으며, 마지막으로 메타버스 가상공간 안에서 기독교적 공감의 실천을 위한 제언을 제시하였다. 이상과 같은 연구를 통해 도출된 본 논문의 결론을 요약하면 다음과 같다. 가상세계는 현실 세계와 괴리된 허구의 세계라고 말할 수 없으며, 그 안에서 활동하는 사람들의 소통 활동은 인격적 상호작용이 적용되 는 공감 형성의 장이 될 수 있다. 따라서 교회공동체가 추구하는 복음전파의 현장에서 가상공간이 제외될 수 없으며, 가상공간 안에서 소통을 원하는 사람들에게 교회는 적극적인 공감의 모습을 보여줘야 할 필요가 있다. 현실 세계뿐만 아니라 가상공간 안에서도 기독교적 소통을 요구하는 이들에게 신앙 형성을 위한 하나님의 사랑과 공감을 전달해야 하는 것 역시 현실 세계를 살아가는 그리스도인의 의무이기 때문이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In the metaverse virtual space, where the real world and the virtual world are interconnected and interacting online, the time has come for the church community to think about how to communicate with people and sympathize with them. This study started with the question of whether communication activities in virtual space such as metaverse can lead to empathy between people, and whether communication in virtual space can lead to Christian empathy. The purpose of this study is to explore the direction of communication for the formation of Christian empathy within the metaverse virtual space. To this end, in this study, the emergence process of the Internet network and the metaverse virtual space as a new field of communication were examined. Next, the necessity of forming empathy for Christian communication in the metaverse virtual space was presented, and finally, a suggestion for practicing Christian empathy in the metaverse virtual space was presented. The conclusions of this paper drawn through the above studies are summarized as follows. It cannot be said that the virtual world is a fictional world separated from the real world, and the communication activities of people working in it can be a place for empathy where personal interaction is applied. Therefore, the virtual space cannot be excluded from the field of evangelism pursued by the church community, and the church needs to show active empathy to those who want to communicate within the virtual space. This is because it is the duty of Christians living in the real world to deliver God’s love and sympathy for the formation of faith to those who demand Christian communication not only in the real world but also in the virtual space.
