일본의 북극해 진출 정책과 한국에의 시사점 = Japan`s Navigation to the Arctic Sea and Its Implication to Korea

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Arctic Sea has been melting away due to the global warming. Dissolving Arctic Sea began to draw wide attention in view of new navigation route as well as natural resource development. Neighboring countries already organized the Arctic Council which propelled the making of the rules related to the management of the region. In line with these trend, East Asian countries such as Korea, Japan, and China hurried up to take part in this rush by joining the Arctic Council as of May 2013. This paper mainly deals with Japan`s policy toward the Arctic Sea focusing its commitment to the field of scientific research, navigation and natural resource development. In conclusion, this paper suggest a trilateral cooperative network for the approach to the Arctic Sea among Korea, Japan and China as a way of enhancing regional cooperation.
