    With the rise of the digital age, the convenience of electronic devices has led to a rapid increase in electronic waste owing to growing demand. To address environmental pollution and foster a sustainable society, there is an increasing need for ecofriendly electronics that can decompose naturally. Biodegradable implantable electronic devices offer significant advantages in the medical field. These devices can degrade and be absorbed or excreted by the body, eliminating the need for surgical removal and thus reducing both surgical risks and the associated time and cost burdens. Recognizing this potential, extensive research and development efforts are currently underway. This report outlines the latest trends in biodegradable electronic devices, focusing on the degradation mechanisms and characteristics of the materials used, as well as their applications, structures, and the environments in which they operate. It also explores future directions and challenges in the development of biodegradable electronics.
