동아시아의 경제기적과 전환기의 도전, 지속성장의 과제 = The East Asian Miracle, Challenges to Its Transition and Sustainable Growth - A Comparison between South Korea, Taiwan and Singapore

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 글은 동아시아 국가들 중에서 한국, 대만, 싱가폴 3개국에 초점을 맞추어서 어떤 과정을 통해 경제기적을 달성했고, 그 역사적 경로에 비추어볼 때에 이행에 대해 어떤 과제를 안고 있는지, 이들을 종합해 볼 때에 어떤 교훈을 얻을 수 있는지 등을 다룬다. 이 글은 각 시스템이 나름대로의 장단점을 갖고 있고, 시스템 이행 과정에서 이 장단점이 서로 다른 형태로 나타난다는 사실에 주목한다. 이러한 비교분석은 각 나라들이 보다 객관적이고 현실적인 지속성장의 실천적 대안을 만들어내는 정지작업으로서 의미가 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper discusses how and why the three East Asian Tigers, namely, South Korea, Taiwan and Singapore, achieved their economic miracles and what kind of challenges for economic and political transitions they face following their respective paths toward the miracles. It focuses on the fact that their systems have their own pros and cons in economic development and these differences resulted in different challenges for transition. The paper also discusses implications to sustainable growth from the comparison of the different challenges.
