This researh focuses mainly on the protective technology for risk minimization of tunnel failure/local collapse, consequently analyse the failure patterns and develops its assessment and a new protective technology. To achieve those aims we introduce a large-scale model test and propose the damage assessment for tunnelling induced ground movements which affect to the adjacent structures. In addition, we suggest a new design technology for the tunnel support pattern based on various ground conditions and consideration of tunnel construction sequence in Korea.
