정치학 교과과정의 새로운 방향에 관한 연구: 한국의 사례를 중심으로 = A Study on the New Directions of Political Science Curriculum in Korea

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구에서는 정치학 고유의 정체성을 유지하면서도 졸업생들의 진로 개척에 도움이 되는 방향을 모색하는 교과과정 개선 방안을 도출하고자 정치 수요와 함께 정치학 밖에서 보는 정치학 관련 자료 분석과 자격증 제도, 인접 사회과학의 실태 분석을 통해 정치학계나 정치학 교과과정의 실용성에 대해 검토하였다. 이와 관련하여 첫째, 사회적 요구와 수요에 부응하자면 대학 혹은 대학원 교과과정 과목 명칭에 특정 과목이 명시된 강의의 개설은 불가피하다고 보았다. 둘째, 자격증을 필요로 하는 학생에게는 자격증 취득에 적합한 강의를 개설하여 선택, 수강할 기회를 제공해야 한다고 제안하였다. 셋째, 조사, 통계처리, 분석 등을 통한 평가와 문제 해결이 필수적이라고 보면서 인접 사회과학 전공들의 수준에 뒤지지 않도록 정치학 교과과정에서도 조사방법/조사분석/정치통계/계량정치 관련 강의의 보완이 필요하다고 제안하였다. 마지막으로, 지역 수준의 정치를 제대로 파악하자면 지방정치의 구조와 현실에 대해서도 익숙하게 파악해야 한다고 보았다. 다양한 자격증을 고려한다면 대학 혹은 전공별 중시 영역에 따라 ‘선거상담분석’, ‘협상실무’, ‘갈등관리실무’, ‘특수지역전문가’ 등의 관련 강좌의 특화가 가능할 것으로 보아 학계 및 학과 차원의 정치 관련 자격증 검토와 교과과정 개선을 위한 수요 분석과 의견 수렴이 보완되어야 한다고 보았다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to derive the curriculum improvement for the students who majoring political science in the universities while maintaining its own identity to help graduates develop their careers.
Through the analysis of job related resources, this study found that the curriculum of political science was not always useful and necessary for practical career and specific certification program. Accordingly, this study suggested a certification system for the market demand, and problem solving skills necessary for political reality, trying to raise the political science curriculum improvement.
To do this, first, curriculum revision should meet social needs and demands; Second, curriculum revision should include the subjects necessary for the various qualifications;
Third, curriculum revision should keep abreast adjacent to the level of social science graduates, at least, in the courses of research methods, analysis, political statistics, measuring the political phenomenon; Finally, curriculum revision should consider the opening the subjects for the political structure of local level including parliament, political parties, political process, political laws, and local politics.
This study suggested the various qualifications on 'election', 'negotiation', 'conflict management', 'special area' through the revision of curriculum and effort of political science major. concluding that election certification system could be developed.
