This paper aims to study on the relativity of media consciousness and sensory subject in Kim soo-young`s poetry and prose. Since 1960`s middle term, Kim soo-young experienced the electronic mass media and responded to the new media sensitively. I think it was a diverging point of Kim soo-young`s works. 1960`s was also the important turning point of media environment in Korea. So, I examine how the media consciousness and the conversion of sensory subject in Kim soo-young`s poetry and prose was formed at that time. We can find many references about printing media(book, magazine, newspaper) in the former term of Kim soo-young`s poetry. The other side, we can find the references about electronic media (telephone, radio, television) in the latter term newly. According as the media environment changed, Kim soo-young`s media consciousness and the sensory subject converted from directivity of visual sense into directivity of hearing sense. He received daily incident and noise into the new source of inspiration and searched for new form. I think the rhetoric of garrulity in Kim soo-young`s latter term poetry was a part of the conversion of sensory subject and the aesthetical change. This point of view will provide valuable aid for understanding Kim soo-young`s works through the relativity of the sense and media.
