주민참여 마을 만들기를 통한 구도심 재생에 관한 연구 = 일본, 영국, 미국의 도시사례를 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 다양한 도시재생기법의 일환으로 주민참여에 의해 마을 만들기가 진행되고 있는 일본, 영국, 미국의 지자체 사례를 중심으로 마을 만들기 관점에서의 도심재생에 주안점을 두고 있다. 이를 위해 도시재생기법에 관한 이론을 고찰한 후 사례조사를 위한 분석 틀을 설정하였다. 관민 협동 작업에 의한 도심창출과 행정의 관여없이 지역상인이 중심이 되어 마을 만들기를 추진한 일본의 사례, 거대 아파트 단지를 허물고 새로운 광장을 조성하는 프로그램을 실시하고 도심부가 도시경제 활성화 및 지역혁신의 중심 역할을 담당하도록 한 영국사례, 도심부 도시디자인 요소 중 가장 중요한 오픈 스페이스에 대하여 중점적으로 전략을 전개하고 가로경관 개선을 통한 친근한 가로 만들기와 질 높은 가로경관을 창출한 미국사례들을 바탕으로 주민참여를 통한 효율적인 도심재생을 위한 방향성을 제시한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This article examines the regeneration of the old city centre throughout residents’ participation for their own community building. The research focuses upon the comparison of characteristics of local municipalities, focusing on the cities of Kyozima and Chiba in Japan, Peckham(Southwark) area and Sheffield city in England and also Seattle and Wisconsin in the US, specifically looking at urban regeneration. For this, urban regeneration techniques in physical and spatial aspects are reviewed and analytical framework for case studies were established. Additionally, this article finds out how to redevelop derelict urban areas in more effective ways by creating a partnership system between residents’ participation and local municipalities in Korea.
