This article summarizes the anti-Japanese armed struggles that Lee Chung-cheon unfolded in Manchuria and Russia from 1919 to 1922. From defecting to Manchuria and serving as an instructor at Shinheung Military School and commander of the Western Route Military Command in the West Jiandao region, the integration of independent military units and activities in Russia developed after the Battle of Cheongsanri were closely examined. Through this, we tried to understand in detail the reality of Lee Chung-cheon’s anti-Japanese armed struggle around 1920.
In order to reveal Lee Chung-cheon’s activities and activities, he used the 『Freedom Diary』 recorded by Lee Chung-cheon, as well as handwriting, memoirs, letters, translations of Russian documents, and Japanese information documents of independence activists who worked together at the time.
