경제, 타인, 그리고 제삼자: 레비나스의 생에 대한 사유를 중심으로 = Economy, Other and Third Person: about the Levinassian Thought of the Life

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The Levinasian thought of the economy is interesting, because it is based neither on capitalism nor on communism. How to envisage this interesting economy? To do this, this thesis is written. I write this thesis as follows: first of all, I consider the economy from the first person: I resort to the enjoyment. Enjoyment, equal to life, shows that, from Levinas' point of view, the economy is for the subject of life or enjoyment. But the economy of the first person changes when the “I” as subject of life is opened to the other. This point is discovered in the hospitality to which Derrida confers an important meaning. In this point, secondly, we must reflect on hospitality. Hospitality shakes the economy for the first person and leads this first person to the otherness of the other. But in the Levinasian philosophy, the other is always accompanied by the third person. In this sense, finally, the third person within the economy must be accounted for. The third extends it both towards ethics and towards justice. This point, I approach it in the Levinassian reflection on money. Ultimately, in conclusion, this thesis shows that the thought of the economy is moving in Levinas’ philosophy towards that of justice.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

레비나스의 경제에 대한 사유는 자본주의에 정초되는 것도 아니고 공산주의에 기반을 두는 것도 아니라는 점에서 흥미하다. 그렇다면 도대체 이 흥미로운 경제에 어떻게 접근할 수 있을까? 이 논문은 이 지점을 고찰해보기 위해서 쓰여졌다. 그러한 고찰을 위해서, 이 논문은 다음과 같아 작성되었다. 우선 레비나스가 말하고자 하는 경제를 1인칭, 즉 “나”의 관점에서 고려해야 할 필요가 있었다. 레비나스가 말한 향유(jouissance)가 이러한 고려에 큰 도움을 줄 것이다. 생(vie)과 등치되는 향유는 레비나스의 관점에서 경제가 우선 1인칭의 관점에서 파악되고 있다는 것을 보여줄 것이다. 그러나 레비나스가 말하는 경제는 향유 혹은 생의 주체인 “나”가 타자에게 열려 있다는 점에서 큰 변화를 맞이한다. 그 부분은 데리다가 레비나스의 철학의 고갱이라고 보았던 환대에서 나타난다. 그리하여 두 번째로 고려할 요소는 환대이다. 환대는 1인칭의 경제를 요동치게 한다. 그리하여 환대에 의해서 경제는 1인칭의 경제에서 벗어나 타인에게로 향한다. 그러나 레비나스의 철학에서 타인은 2인칭 개인에게만 국한된 것이 아니라 언제나 3인칭을 동반한다. 그런 의미에서 마지막으로 제삼자가 생각될 것이다. 제삼자는 타인의 윤리를 타인과 제삼자 모두를 위한 경제로 확장될 수 있게 한다. 그 지점이 레비나스의 돈에 대한 사유에서 목도된다. 이러한 점들을 밝힌 후 이 논문은 레비나스의 경제에 대한 사유가 윤리를 거쳐서 정의로 향하는 사유임을 보여주려고 한다.
