Are there any gender differences in the policewomen' perception of job performance? Using self-report survey methodology, this paper examines the relationship between gender and policewomen's perceptions of their job performance. Based upon surveys of 220 police officers in the Daegu Metropolitan Police Agency(132 male and 90 female), results show that male and female officers perceive themselves equally qualified to carry out 78% tasks(39 out of 50 measured tasks) required in law-enforcement, including administration and supervision. This research suggests that male and female police officials work almost equally well on the jobs. There are no statistically significant differences in their job performance, capabilities, and administration skills when level of education, years of experiences, and rank are controlled.
