Modern plastic art is expanding its scale and speed as time passes. This change has led to a trend where a lot of countries develop their own cultural products which can take a role of increasing added value. Clothes is one of the culture that could reflect country`s characteristics no matter which country, Our traditional patterns applied to theses clothes have the root of our spirit and connotate the beauty of our tradition delicately and elegantly while being in sympathy with nature, As cultural products becomes commercialized, various accesses have been tried to research the commercialization and value of clothes. We will apprehend plastic characteristics of traditional patterns and find the ways to improve by taking a look at examples. Synergy effect can be bigger when the clothes that show country`s characteristic and Korea`s traditional patters combine. Clothes let us to find our identity, Futhermore, It could be the vector which delivers the status of the nation. Producing clothes thinking only its aesthetic perspective could lead to a situation where our traditional spirit disappear, That is why we should develop unique and creative traditional clothes that anyone can understand. If clothes have traditional patterns with its symbol, identity and value, it will let us conserve our tradition and increase the value of products. Decreasing number of master craftsmen can be overcome by academic-industrial cooperation and this will lead to continuation of out tradition. Working hard to training the upcoming generation is important. These people will make effort to develop clothes with traditional patterns by interchanging opinions with traditional clothes designers.
