道德敎育의 內容으로서의 性理學理論 = Neo-Confucian Theory as a Content of Moral Education

In Confucian tradition, morally good life is defined not by following li 利 but by pursuing yi 義. In their thought, the man who defines morally good life as following li is the man who sees human life in the light of means-ends reasoning; This sort of man may foment social disorder. Confucianists and Neo-Confucianists thought that the meaning of morally good life should be derived from the concrete human life. Their report goes that morality is nothing but the other name of li 理 or xing 性; li or xing is the ‘unmanifested standard’ of human life. In this points of view, Neo-Confucian theory can be regarded as the most important content in moral education.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

유학의 전통이 나타내는 한 가지 중요한 특징은 利를 따르는 대신에 義를 추구하는 것을 올바른 삶으로 규정하였다는 데에 있다. 그들이 생각하기에, 올바른 삶 또는 도덕의 의미를 利의 추구로 규정하는 것은 곧 삶을 用度의 관점에서 규정하는 것이며, 삶을 용도의 관점에서 규정하는 사람이 세상에 가져다주는 것은 오직 혼란뿐이다. 유학자들이 보기에, 도덕의 의미는 구체적인 삶에서 확인될 수 있다. 그들이 확인한 바에 의하면, 道德이라는 것은 形而上者로서의 理 또는 性이 나타내는 특징 이외의 다른 것이 아니다. 도덕의 의미를 形而上者의 특징으로 규정할 때, 성리학 이론은 도덕교육의 내용으로서 핵심적인 위치를 차지한다.
