국가 교육과정 개정과 학교 교육의 질 = National curriculum revision and the quality of education

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this paper is to draw a conceptual framework for understanding the relationship between the national curriculum revision and the enhancement of the quality of education in Korean context. First, I review four approaches to the concepts of the quality in education―the output model, input model, process model, and absence of problems model―, and then examine how each model conceptualizes the quality of the curriculum. Based on the conceptual framework, I argue that we require a systemic approach, which views and explains the relationships and interactions of diverse curricular elements and other factors related to the classroom changes as a whole system, if the national curriculum revision is to ensure improvement in educational quality. We also need to systematize research agenda for monitoring the implementation process and the results of curriculum revision, and to establish a governance system to control the quality management of the curriculum.
