19대 총선과 진보정당: 이슈와 전망

국문 초록 (Abstract)

연구 결과 새누리당이 승리하기는 했지만 여전히 정권심판론에 기반한 회고적 투표행태가 중요하게 작용하였다. 다만 정권심판론 이외에도 주요 정당 및 잠재적 대선 후보에 대한 태도 또한 19대 총선에서 유권자의 투표 선택에 중요한 영향을 끼쳤다.
소셜네트워크서비스(SNS) 사용자들은 높은 정치적인 성향을 보이고 있으나 아직 선거 등 현실정치에 미치는 영향은 제한적인 것으로 나타났다.
SNS 사용자들은 선거에 대한 관심도 높았고, 실제로 투표에도 적극적으로 참여했으며, 민주통합당과 통합진보당에 큰 지지를 보냈다
SNS 사용자들은 지역구 투표에서는 민주통합당 후보를 70% 이상 지지했고, 비례대표 투표에서는 41.8%가 통합진보당을 지지했다.
통합진보당의 탄생과 야권연대의 등장은 미국식 양당체제를 강화하고 노동정치의 실종을 구조화할 것으로 보인다.
총선 결과 제2 야당으로 부상한 통합진보당의 비례대표 선출을 위한 당내 경선과정에서 여러 종류의 선거 부정에 이어 이에 대한 사후 처리 과정에서 나타난 폭력성으로 인해 진보정당에서의 당내 민주주의 현황에 대해 심각한 문제제기가 있었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Results show that, in spite of the unexpected winning of the Sanuri Party, retrospective voting based on the referendum on the incumbent government still played a significant role. Results also show that, in addition to the referendum on the incumbent government, voters’ attitudes toward major parties and potential presidential candidates exerted a significant influence on vote choices. Social network service (SNS) users were highly political, but the influence of these services in real politics such as elections seemed to be limited. SNS users were very much interested in the elections and also voted actively. They strongly supported the Democratic United Party and the Unified Progressive Party. More than 70% of SNS users supported a candidate from the Democratic United Party in the local constituencies, and 41.8% supported the Unified Progressive Party for proportional representation. As a result of the election, the Unified Progressive party(UPP) was raised up to the second largest opposition party in Korean legislative system, but the party showed negative aspects in the processing of the election for candidates within the party with the use of force.
