베에토벤 바가텔에 관한 소고 : 작품 33, 119, 126을 중심으로 = (A) Study of L.v. Beethoven's Bagatelles : Centering on op. 33, 119, and 126

국문 초록 (Abstract)

18세기 말부터 I9세기 초에 걸쳐 고전파 음악을 완성한 베에토벤(Ludwig van Beethoven, 177O-1827)은 음악의 여러 분야에서 그의 뛰어난 천재성을 발휘했으며 피아노 독주곡의 작곡에 많은 관심을 가졌다. 그의 음악은 하이든(F.J. Haydn, 1732-l8O9)과 모짜르트 (W.A. Mozart, 1756-l791)의 전통적인 고전주의 음악 양식의 영향과 초기 낭만주의의 자유스런 감정 표현이 합쳐져 베에토벤 자신의 독창적인 기법으로 표현되었다. 그는 32개의 피아노 소나타, 1O개의 피아노 변주곡, 20여개의 피아노 소품을 작곡했다. 이 소품안에 바가텔(Bagatelle)이라는 짧고 간단한 피아노 곡이 있다. 이것은 작품 33, 119, 126의 세곡인데 일반적으로 가요 형식(song form)으로 되어 있으며 가벼운 기분으로 장난스런 특징을 넣은 작은 규모의 곡이다.
본 논문에서는 그의 생애를 중심으로 한 시대적 배경을 살펴보고 베에토벤 바가텔 작품 33, l19, 126의 선율의 특징과 발전을 중음으로 그의 악곡 전개 방법을 연구하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다.
1. 바가텔의 선율은 주제적이기 보다 동기적이다.
2. 선율은 대조되는 'A'와 'B'의 두 요소로 되어 있으며, 이것이 반복되는 과정에서 선율적 장식을 많이해 준다.
3. 페달 포인트(pedal point)가 많이 사용되었으며 분산 화음으로 반주를 이른 곳이 많다.
4. 작품 33과 119의 코다(coda)에서는 이미 제시된 선율이 다시 사용되는 경우가 많았으나, 작품 126에서는 새로운 선율이 사용 되었다.
위에 언급한 바가텔은 베에토벤이 청각을 잃기 시작하여 '하일리겐 슈타트(Heiligen Stadt)' 유서를 썼던 1802년부터 시작하여 그가 세상을 떠나기 3-4년 전인 1823년에 걸쳐 쓴 작품이다. 이때 쓰여진 바가텔은 규모가 작고 간결하여, 서정적이거나 익살스러운 음의 표현등이 대조적인이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

L. v. Beethoven, who showed his genius in the various fields of music, completed classic music from the late 18th century to the early 19th century and made much efforts to compose piano solos. His music, influenced by F. J. Haydn (1732-1809) and W. A. Mozart (1756-1791), was expressed uniquely by his own method which was the combination of the traditional musical form of the classicism and the free expression of emotions of the early romanticism.
He composed 32 piano sonatas, 10 piano variations, and 20 piano pieces. Among his piano pieces there are 3 bagatelles, which are a short and simple type of piano pieces. These are op. 33, 119, and 126. These were composed technically, descriptively, in a song form, and on a small scale, These shows such characteristics as lightness and playfulness.
In this thesis, the periodic backgrounds centered on his life and his methods of proceeding of musical piece, in the point of view of the characteristics and development of melody, were studied by analyzing op. 33, 119, and 126.
The followings are the result.
1. The melody develops according to rather the motive than the theme.
2. The melody consists of two elements, A and B , which form striking contrast to each other, and is ornamented in the process of its repetition.
3. The accompanyment is usually composed of pedal point and broken chord.
4. In the codas of op. 33 and 119, previous melody often reappears, but, in that of op. 126 new melody is used.
The bagatelles referred above are the works composed from the 1802 when he started to become deaf and wrote 'Heiligen Stadt Testament' to the 1823 that was 3 or 4 years before his death. In this period, the forms, structures, and methods of proceeding of musical pieces of his other works are bold and magnificent, and grand in scale. But those of bagatelles are simple arid lyric and small in scale. This contrast reveals his efforts to find the calmness and comfort of mind, which helps to comprehend his works and mental world.
