Normal, iso, and tertiary Butyl alcohol. which have poisoning effects due to oxygen atoms in their skeleton. were plasma polymerized on NaCl and KBr substrates at RF discharge power of 25W and pressures of 100. 140. and 200mTorr. For the analysis of chemical compositions of three alcohol-plasma polymerized thin films. The characteristic absorption bands of C-H stretching viblation were analyzed by means of IR.
Regardless of their structural differences of isomeric alcohols. the C-H stretching bands were all the same. however. the deposition rates depended on substrates and on species of isomeric alcohols.
