국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 논문의 목적은 정치적 대표체제로서의 정당에 초점을 맞춰 해방이후 최근까지 한국사회에서 전개된 이데올로기 갈등을 분석하는 데 있다. 즉 한국사회의 대표적 이데올로기 갈등이라고 할 수 있는 반공주의, 발전주의, 그리고 복지주의를 둘러싼 갈등이 언제, 어떤 형태로 표출되어왔고, 그러한 갈등이 정당체제 차원에서는 어떻게 반영되어 왔는지를 실증적으로 분석하고자 하는 것이다. 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째로, 한국사회의 대표적인 이데올로기 갈등 축이 민주화와 탈냉전 이후 서서히 변하고 있다는 것이다. 특히, 이러한 변화는 반공주의의 약화를 초래하는데 결정적으로 기여했다. 둘째로, IMF 경제위기와 신자유주의적 세계화 이후 정당 간 경쟁의 기본 갈등 축이 반공주의에서 발전주의, 복지주의라는 사회경제적 차원으로 이동하고 있다는 것을 확인했다. 결론적으로 우리는 이러한 사실들을 통해 현단계 한국사회의 이데올로기 갈등의 성격이 서구적 의미의 좌-우 이데올로기 차원, 즉 계급에 기반한 균열로 이동해가고 있다고 말할 수 있을 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The main purpose of this paper is to analyze ideological conflict which has developed in Korean society from post-liberation until recently, focusing on the political party as political representative system. The results of the analysis are as follows. Firstly, this paper confirmed that the axis of representative ideological conflict of the Korean society is slowly changing after democratization and post-cold war. In particular, this change has caused a weakening of anti-communism. Secondly, this paper confirmed that the conflicting pivot of party competition after IMF and globalization is shifting from anti-communism to a social-economic dimension connected with developmentalism and welfarism. In conclusion, we will be able to say that the nature of the ideological confict in Korean society at the present time is gradually shifting to the Left-Right dimension, class-based cleavage in the Western sense.
