Since the middle of the 1990’s, the Korean churches have experienced stagnation or decline of their growth. During the period of the church growth in the past, the churches might have tried to recruit manager type persons as their pastors. As of now, the Korean churches seem to find visionary leaders as their pastors more than to find manager type persons because of their stagnation and decline.
First of all, this article mentioned why visionary leaders are necessary for local churches. The visionary leaders can give the right direction to the churches they serve. Second, this article presented how the leaders find and accomplish visions given by God to the local churches. Lastly, the pitfalls in which the visionary leaders can be easily entrapped and the solutions to the pitfalls were introduced.
It is inevitable to meet conflicts in the process of accomplishing a vision in any church. During this process, the vision introduced by the leader to the church is tested. In the test period, church members want to check whether the leader is dependable and faithful or not, rather than to check the authenticity of the vision. therefore, the leaders needed for the Korean churches are those who have spirituality and morality as well as visions.
