      The purpose of this paper is to make sure what is the purpose and importance of the Bible translation and its impact on Christian missions.
      First, what is the purpose and importance of the Bible translation? According to Bible, God has plan to save all men. God desires all men from every nation and all tribes and peoples and tongues to be saved. How can all men be saved? All men can be saved by faith. This faith comes from hearing the Word of God. The Word of God has power to make all men be saved. Therefore, the Word of God should be preached to all men and all men have to hear the Word of God. When men hear the Word of God in their own tongue, so called mother tongue, men are best understand the Word of God. So we should let all men to read and hear the Word of God. That is the purpose and importance of the Bible translation.
      Second, what is the impact of the Bible translation on Christian missions? Bible translation is the beginning of Christian missions, especially protestant missions. When local people in the mission field hear the Gospel in their mother tongue, they rightly understand and have faith which brings to salvation. The most of pioneer missionary in history of missions had begun their ministry with the Bible translation, for example, Bartholomew Zienbalg, William Carey, Adoniram Judson, Robert Morrison, and William Cameron Townsend.
      In addition, I studied history of the Bible translation in Thailand and Korea in order to make sure what impact of the Bible translation on missions is. The beginning of missions in Korea is very special case. Before protestant missionary came to Korea, the Bible was translated into Korean, not in Korea, but in foreign country, that is China and Japan. This is the one of reasons of rapid church growth in Korea. Therefore, the Bible translation is very primary and effective strategy of Christian missions on evangelism, church planting and church growth in every nation and all tribes and peoples and tongues. Let them hear the Gospel in their mother tongue.
