This researcher will observe the demonstration culture of Korea society and will investigate its history and background which we can identify as the sign of important change, especially under the circumstances of 2008. This researcher will further inquire into the change of Korean society the Candles represents, opposing to the various political, social, cultural arguments about the Candles demonstration of 2008. Here, the change in the standpoints of Choi, Jang-Jib about the Candles demonstration that leads the critic intelligence of Korean society gives us important points. First, he agreed with the demonstration, but soon changed his position to the theory -the inefficiency of the Candles demonstration. But before long, these change brought various arguments for and against his standpoint. In addition, the limits of this denunciation is restricted to political area that focuses on a representative fundamentally and excessively. The Candles demonstration is a social phenomenon which is already neither evaluated nor could cut out from the political viewpoint. That is, the Candles demonstration as a social phenomenon includes politics, but it is a various dimensional phenomenon that could not be identified by politics any more.
From this viewpoint, the research worker will synthesize various arguments which analyze the candles demonstration as various dimensional phenomenons laying stress on the ideas, 'Generation', 'Group Intelligence', which were raised by Jeon, Sang-Jin. On the basis of this, the writer will try to bring forth a counterargument against the theory that the Candles is inefficient. Several sociological discussions
including Jeon, Sang-Jin comes to a conclusion that the Candles is the phenomenal section of the change which brought about on social cultural basis. This change is ordinarily not limited to the transition of the deep structure, but has an impact on the most direct daily life and living with a different way from the past. The theory that the Candles demonstration is inefficient doesn't seem to be properly estimating the important entailment of the Candles as social, cultural changes. Choi's viewpoint on the candles demonstration was not developed from various understandings and evaluation, so his theory is considered a hasty one. On the other side, the analysis of the Candles judging from a viewpoint of Generation shows us that it is based on the common discrimination that massive social constituents experience. In addition, his attempt to define the Candles as Mass-Intelligence about specialist groups also seems to be a try to clarify the change of knowledge sociology, the relation between knowledge and power in the Candles. On these arguments, the Candles demonstration in 2008 clearly seems to be a social problem which is not restricted by the partial viewpoint- representative democracy.
This researcher will emphasize information-oriented social as a social cultural sign which the Candles has. The social change the Candles demonstrates could not be possible without the rapid development of Information-Techknowledge based on internet and mobile phone. The discrimination participators in the Candles and the objectors experienced is definitely revealed in that it is aggressive in communication through internet and mobile phon. In that sense, the Candles, especially the Candles in 2008 can be an example which shows that Korea enters on a new phase changing from modern society into knowledge information society and this change is situated on the point where it permeates in political practices and social daily areas. The theory which the Candles demonstration is inefficient has some limitations, because the representative system can not be a systematic frame which can fully respond to the changes.
