조선시대 여성의 문자생활 연구 : 조선왕조실록 및 한글 필사본을 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

조선왕조실록에 나타난 여성의 문자 생활을 그 표기 수단에 따라 이두문에 의한 것, 한글에 의한 것, 한문에 의한 것이 있다.
여성의 문자 생활에서 가장 중요한 비중을 차지하는 것은 한글에 의한 것이다. 한글에 의한 문자 생활은 몇 가지 점에서 중요한 비중을 차지한다. 첫째, 문자 생활의 1차적 측면인 서사자로서의 참여가 여성의 문자 생활에서 실천되었다는 점에서 의미가 있다. 둘째, 대비나 중전의 한글 교서는 정치적 영향력이 큰 것으로서 국사의 결정에 관여했다는 점에서 그 중요성이 크다. 셋째, 한글은 사회 계층적으로 다른 문자보다 훨씬 넓은 범위에 걸쳐 사용되었다는 점이다. 대비와 중전, 궁녀, 양반층 여성, 기녀와 비녀에 걸쳐 이 문자가 활용되었다는 점에서 한글이 가장 비중 있는 문자라 할 수 있다. 넷째, 문자의 사용 목적에 있어서도 한글이 가장 다양한 용도를 가졌다는 점이다. 이두문은 관문서나 거래용 문서에 주로 활용되었고, 한문은 편지 및 문학적 성격의 글에 주로 이용되었다. 이에 비해 한글은 편지와 詩文뿐 아니라 일상 생활의 기록에 널리 이용되었고, 특수한 경우 관청에 제출한 청원서에도 이용되기도 했다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

A study of writing life of women in Joseon(朝鮮) period : centering around Joseonwangjosilrok(朝鮮王朝實錄) and hand writed Korean literatures

This paper first examines the literacy education for women in Chosun period(how women were educated to read and write during the Chosun period), and describes the use of three different writing systems - Idu(吏讀), Han-geul(한글) and Chinese chracter(漢文) - especially concentrating on the records of Joseonwangjosilrok(朝鮮王朝實錄).
Han-geul was most frequently used in the hierachical relationship among the characters. Thus, Han-geul has several significant values : First, women could participate in the literal activities in the society. Second, Gyoseo(敎書, in this case, the official letters of queens) influenced strongly on deciding the important national affairs. Third, Han-guel was used by people in the widest range of the society - people in the palace, women in Yangban(兩班) families, Gisaeng(妓生) and slavors(奴婢). Fourth, the use of Han-geul enabled women to record their everyday lives. Considering the influence of the women's social activities in literary competency on not only their life style but the political reality, this study discusses its significance in the history of writing systems.
