동아시아 연대와 무장투쟁- 다큐 <동아시아반일무장전선>에 나타난 피해-가해 관계와 한일간 프란츠 파농의 폭력론 수용을 중심으로 = East Asian Solidarities and Armed Resistances: Perpetration-victimhood Relationship in the Film “Anti-Japanese Armed Front in East Asia” and Acceptance of Frantz Fanon’s “Violence” in Korea and Japan

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Director Mirae Kim produced a documentary titled “Anti-Japanese Armed Front in East Asia” in 2019. This paper looks into the “solidarity” and “violence” reflected in the film, pursues their meanings in the historical and contemporary perspectives and places it in the mankind’s heritage for the social and revolutionary movements.
First, this paper examines the word “Anti-Japan” in East Asia and seeks to highlight that the members of ‘the anti-Japanese armed front line’ awakened themselves to the afflictions which the Japanese had done on the East Asians. and initiated the anti-Japanese movement, searching for solidarities between Asian peoples, although they, themselves, were Japanese. The statements of the activists participating in the front line in person were narrated from the literature (that is, written judgments, testimonies, news reports and others), rather than in their own words; on the other hand, the statements of those who helped the activists’ living in the prison and afterwards, though not directly participating in it, were vividly articulated through direct interviews with them. This unique placement of the statements in the film will be conceptualized in the words, “archiving unconfined to the perspectives of the party involved themselves”.
Motivated by this cinematic technique, this paper considers the possibility of forming solidarities by self-awakening of guilty conscience in having offended Others and the possibilities of finding out of a new way of archiving which is not confined to the persons directly involved.
Next, Keeping the meaning of the word, “Armed Front” in mind, this paper traces the genealogy of armed resistances and conceptualizes it as “illegal struggles of those who are outside of law and thus outside of the legal protection.” “Concerning Violence” in Frantz Fanon’s 1951 book, The Wreched of the Earth, made a theoretical background of the ‘anti-Japanese armed front line.” This paper examines the way how the essay was interpreted and accommodated in both of the Korean and Japanese societies and shows the extent and degree of similarities and differences in the perception and self-identification, although both peoples were driving the illegal and/or violent struggles or armed campaigns in almost the same way. Despite these differences, the frequent misty scenes in the film stand for the ontological realities of the partisans at the front of illegal violent struggles.
By analyzing solidarities, violences, and bonds in the armed front line, the paper inquires about how the present Korean society can share the suffering with other countries in the Third World including Asia and they can form the solidarity with the Others inside their own society in future. In addition, it asks for a new different way of archiving in which the performing of solidarity will be documented.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 2019년에 김미례 감독이 만든 다큐멘터리 <동아시아반일무장전선>에 표현된 ‘연대’와 ‘폭력’에 초점을 맞춰 그 역사적·현재적 의미를 동아시아 사회운동과 혁명을 위한 인류의 자산으로 사유하려고 한다.
첫째로, ‘동아시아 반일’이라는 말에 천착하여 ‘동아시아반일무장전선’이 아시아 인민과의 연대를 추구하고 스스로의 가해성을 인식하면서 일본인이면서 ‘반일’을 외쳤던 의미를 조명한다. 또한 당사자들의 주장은 문헌의 내레이션으로 배치하고, 당사자들을 지원하는 사람들의 발언을 생생한 인터뷰로 배치한 다큐기법을 ‘당사자성을 벗어난 아카이빙’으로 의미화했다. 이러한 사유와 다큐기법을 부각시킴으로써 ‘가해성의 인식을 통한 연대’의 가능성을 타진하고, 당사자성에 갇히지 않는 아카이빙 방식을 모색했다. 둘째로, ‘무장전선’이라는 말에 천착하여 아시아·제3세계 무장투쟁의 계보를 살펴보고, 그 의미를 ‘법 밖으로 밀려난 자들의 비합법투쟁’으로 개념화했다. 또한 ‘동아시아반일무장전선’의 이론적 배경이 되었던 프란츠 파농의 「폭력론」이 한국과 일본에서 어떤 다른 의미를 띠고 수용되었는가를 살펴보았다. 이를 통해 비합법투쟁 혹은 무장투쟁의 연대 속에서도 식민지 종주국이었던 일본과 피식민지였던 한국 사이에 인식 차이와 동일시의 차이가 발생했음을 밝혔다. 그러나 이러한 차이에도 불구하고, 다큐 속에 자주 등장하는 ‘안개’ 장면은 한일간의 차이를 뛰어넘어 비합법투쟁의 전선이 형성되는 파르티잔의 존재론적 장소라는 점을 보여주었다.
이처럼 본 연구는 <무장전선>의 연대·폭력·관계에 대한 분석을 통하여, 한국사회가 미래에 아시아·제3세계의 고통에 어떻게 공감하고 한국 내부의 타자들과 어떻게 연대를 모색할 수 있을지를 물었다. 또한 이러한 연대에 대한 모색이 어떤 아카이빙의 방법으로 기록되어야 하는가에 대한 질문을 던졌다.
