중학생의 생활스트레스 경험과 대처방식이 우울, 무망감 및 자살생각에 미치는 영향 = Effects of Middle School Students' Life Stress and Ways of Coping on their Depression, Hopelessness, and Suicidal Ideation

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 중학생의 생활스트레스 경험 및 대처가, 우울, 무망감 및 자살생각에 어떤 영향을 미치는지를 알아보고자 하였으며, 또한 중학생이 지각하는 스트레스 대처가 그들의 자살생각에 완충작용을 할 수 있는지를 살펴보았다.
피험자는 충남 및 전북에 거주하는 323명의 남녀 중학생들이었으며, 지각된 스트레스 척도, 우울 척도, 무망감 척도, 자살생각 척도, 스트레스 대처척도 등을 자기보고 형식으로 작성하였다. 결과는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 스트레스는 우울 무망감 및 자살사고와는 모두 유의한 정적상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 우울은 중학생의 자살생각과 가장 관련이 높은 요인이었다. 이것은 인지적으로 미성숙한 청소년들이 정서적인면에 더 많은 영향을 받아 자살 충동을 느낀다는 것을 의미한다.
둘째, 스트레스와 대처방식은 통계적으로 유의미한 정적 상관관계를 보였다. 스트레스 대처는 중학생들의 우울, 무망감 및 자살생각과 부적인 상관이 있었다. 또한 적극적 대처는 우울함에서 소극적 대처는 무망감과 자살생각에 많은 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
무망감은 인지적인 요인으로, 정서적인 우울 보다는 덜 하지만 중학생의 자살생각에 역시 유의미한 영향을 미치는 요인으로 밝혀졌다.
중학생이 느끼는 생활스트레스는 우울, 무망감 및 자살생각에 영향을 미친다. 그들의 우울, 무망감 및 자살생각과 관련이 높은 스트레스 요인은 부모님, 선생님, 형제와의 갈등 등으로 관계스트레스에서의 갈등이 가장 큰 역할을 하였다.
결과적으로 청소년들의 자살생각에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 요인은 정서적인 요인인 우울이었다. 이것은 무망감이라는 인지적인 요인이 핵심 역할을 하는 성인들의 자살 요인과는 질적으로 다르다는 것을 밝혀준다. 따라서 청소년들의 우울, 무망감 및 자살생각을 예방하거나 방지할 때는 성인들과는 다른 정서적인 접근법을 사용하여야 할 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of present study was to investigate the relationship among life stress experience and coping, depression, hopelessness, and suicidal ideation of middle school students. This study also investigated the buffering effect of perceived coping method of stress in their suicidal ideation.
The subjects were 323 middle school students in Chungnam and Junbuk. In order to measure subjects' perceived stress, depression, hopelessness, suicidal ideation and stress coping, the subjects were given self-report questionnaires. Statistical methods adopted for data analysis were frequencies, Correlation, Simple Regression, Multiple Regression, Stepwise Regression.
Major findings of the study were as follows ;
1) The stress which was appeared by the subjects influenced the hopelessness, depression, suicidal thought of middle school students. The most powerful and important factor in middle school students' suicidal ideation was depression.
If this the young people who are immature with the student who probably is emotional it receives a more effect and it feels a suicide impulse it means the thing.
2)The stress and coping method of stress were shown to be a consideration interrelation statistically. Overcoming method of stress was dejected suicide ideation, depression and hopelessness of the junior high school students.
Also positive disposal dejected is negative disposal in nothing watch feeling and suicide ideation many effect it appeared with the fact that it goes.
In stepwise regression analysis which located the suicidal ideation in dependent variable, and the rest were independent variables, depression entered for the first time. That is, depression could explain the suicidal ideation in subjects most.
Hopelessness also influenced the suicidal ideation. Hopelessness was a cognitive content while depression was emotional. Hopelessness correlated with suicidal ideation but not so much as depression. The life which the junior high school student feels stress effect it goes mad to a dejected nothing watch feeling suicide ideation. The relation of they suicide ideation and the head of a family is high, the relationship stress from the discord is big most role with the discord back of the parents, the teacher and the sibling.
So stress, depression, hopelessness, and coping were related to the middle school students' suicidal ideation. Beck proposed that hopelessness was the main factor which influenced suicidal thought in American adult subjects. But, in this study depression was much more important than hopelessness in middle school students. When the dejected depression, hopelessness, suicide ideation of the young people it prevents preventing consequently, with the adults must use a different emotional access method.
