인터넷 댓글에 나타난 ‘성기’ 관련 욕설의 변이형 고찰

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study focused on the rapid increase of sorts of abusive words and the numbers of being used in the cyber space which lead us to think of the purpose of analyzing and to clear up the causes of “Variations of abusive words related to the genitalia”. It has been decided, to provide some rational and practical alternatives for the main culprit of destroying the beauty of Korean language, we need to comprehend the “truth of the abusive words”. We collected and analyzed the abusive words related to genitalia to classify the image and content characteristics from the 300 replies on a one of the articles which was published on internet portal side “Daum”. We subdivided the patterns of variations of main cause of occurrence into evasion of tabooed words, amusement of language and evasion of linguistic norms.
Evasion of tabooed words begun before internet communication language has developed and has been used to decrease the pressure of direct mention of the tabooed word.
Evasion of prohibited words arisen after internet communication language has developed and this origin can be included in evasion of tabooed words. However, evading the tabooed word is more of self-regulating whereas evading prohibited word is other-directed.
Amusement of language has older histories and bigger range compared to evasion of tabooed word. Our people enjoyed humor and satire from ancient time and amusement of language has been a particular way to do so. “Abusive words related to genitalia” which is symbolic of tabooed words naturally became the subject of amusement of language.
Evasion of linguistic can be separated according to the purposes. Evading purposely includes not using the orthography correctly to add freshness fun or using it to show resistance against the older generation through the online conversations which can be easily seen on online chatting rooms.
Evading without purposely is a simple mistake occurred from ignorance of linguistic norms.
Except the “evasion of linguistic norms without purpose”, rest of the types are eventually combined into “evasion of tabooed words”.
“Abusive word of genitalia variation” is used to criticize and to hurt others but it has been a pressure to mention the “genitalia” directly which is a typical tabooed word. That is why we gave a small change and supplied with substitute of the meanings to decrease the pressure of using the tabooed words.
