우쿨렐레를 활용한 음악치료교육이 모자보호시설아동의 정서지능과 자존감 향상에 미치는 효과

This study was carried out to know whether music therapy education program using Ukulele has effect on improving EQ and self-esteem of children in women’s refuge. The subject was children living in S women’s refuge located in K city. Music therapy education program using Ukulele composed of totally 29 sessions went on for 60 minutes once a week. Before and after executing the program, EQ and self-esteem tests were conducted and the results of the study were analyzed using SPSS 18.0 statistical program. Summary of the study results are as follows: First, there was a significant increase in empathy and emotional control among sub-factors of EQ. Second, there was a significant increase in social respect among sub-factors of Self-esteem. To conclude, this study showed that music therapy education has a positive effect on increasing empathy, emotional control and social respect among sub-factors of both EQ and self-esteem of children li v ing in women’s refuge.
