<춘향전> 수업방안 고찰 : 모둠별 토의학습을 중심으로 = A Study on Teaching "Chunhyangjeon"

국문 초록 (Abstract)

춘향전은 판소리 춘향가로부터 기원한 유명한 판소리계 소설이다. 특히 드라마, 영화, 오페라, 뮤지컬, 시, 소설 등 다양하게 변형된 모습으로 누구나 그 줄거리를 알고 있을 정도로 많은 사랑을 받고 있는 대표적인 작품이다. 판소리가 우리 민족이 세계에 자랑할 만한 고유한 민족 문화인데 반해 중, 고등학교 교수- 학습 시 많은 문제점을 가지고 있다. 문학적인 성격과 음악적 성격을 둘 다 가지고 있는 춘향전을 어떻게 하면 재미있게 구성하여 교수-학습 할 수 있을까?
본고에서는 국어과 내에서의 통합교육의 방식으로 국어의 교육과정인 말하기, 듣기, 읽기, 쓰기의 네 영역과 매체 활용에 의한 보기 영역을 통합한 학습지도 방법을 중심으로 교수-학습 방법을 제안하였다.
춘향전의 교수-학습 과정을 4차시로 구성하였다. 판소리와 소설은 매우 유사하다고도 볼 수 있지만 다른 점이 많이 있다. 학생들에게 판소리계 소설을 제대로 이해할 수 있는 여러 사항들을 구성하여 교수 -학습해야 한다.
1차시는 영화 춘향전과 소설 춘향전을 비교한 후, 판소리계 소설의 특징을 찾아보는 활동이다. 판소리계 소설의 형성과정에 대해 설명한 후, 조별로 찾아온 근원설화를 발표한다.
2차시는 인물의 발화와 행동을 고려하여 특징을 파악한 후 현대판 춘향전으로 각색해 본다.
3차시는 판소리 장단에 대해 조사하고 장단을 살려 춘향전을 읽어본 뒤 다양한 변형 양상을 가지는 춘향전의 이본을 찾아본다
마지막 4차시는 갈등 구조 파악을 통해 주제를 찾아보고 인물의 처지에 대해 이해하고 바꿔 말하는 활동을 해본다.
학습자 중심의 고전 소설 수업이 효과적으로 운영되기 위해 보다 중요한 것은 학습자의 역할이 아니라 교사의 역할이 중요함을 알아야한다. 수업에 대한 교사의 철저한 준비와 노력 없이 수업의 효과를 보장할 수 없다.
춘향전은 역사적으로, 정신적으로 매우 소중한 우리 문화유산이며 많은 사람들의 사랑을 받아왔다. 교수-학습 자료로 고전문학을 이해시키는데도 더없이 훌륭한 작품이며 한국의 전통 문화를 이해하는 힘이 길러질 것이다. 학생들이 판소리계 소설이 가지는 미학적 가치를 찾고, 문화적인 소양이 향상되기를 바라며, 스스로 판소리계 소설이 가지는 가치를 평가해보고 함께 토의하며 학습하는 능력을 길렀음 하는 바람이다. 더하여 선생님과 학생이 흥미를 가지고 함께 수업을 진행할 때 수업의 질이 더욱 향상될 것이라 기대해 본다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Chunhyangjeon is a famous Pansori novel originated from Pansori Chunhyangga. A lot of people have enjoyed this novel and it has been variously adapted for drama, movies, operas, musicals, and poems. While Pansori is a unique national culture worthy of being boasted to the world, it has many problems when taught and learned in the classes of middle and high schools. Although Pansori and a novel are very alike, they have many different things each other. Therefore, teachers of Korean should teach students with material which can help them understand Pansori novels. Then, how can we make the procedure of teaching and learning Chunhyangjeon, which has the characteristics of both literature and music, interesting?
This thesis suggests the method of teaching and learning that focuses on the method of teaching that integrates the four areas of speaking, listening, reading, and writing the national curriculum in Korean with an area of viewing through the usage of multimedia. The lesson plan introduced here consists of 4 periods. A teacher asks students to find the characteristics of Pansori novels after comparing the movie of Chunhyangjeon and the novel of Chunhyangjeon, explain the historical background of Pansori novels, and present the traditional tale of Chunhyangjeon in the first period. Then they adapt the novel of Chunhyangjeon for a modern novel version after figuring out characteristics of the characters of Chunhyangjeon in consideration of their utterances and behaviours in the second period. And they go through the rhythms of Pansori, read the novel of Chunhyangjeon to the rhythms, and introduce many different versions of Chunhyangjeon in the third period. Lastly, they try to find a theme of Chunhyangjeon through figuring out the structure of conflict and role-play in the fourth period.
We should know what counts most in order to run a learner-centered class of classic novel is not the role of learners but the role of a teacher. The effect of classes is not guaranteed without a teacher's thorough preparation and efforts for classes. Chunhyangjeon has been loved by so many people and is an invaluable cultural legacy both historically and mentally. It is a great source of teaching and learning material for understanding classic works of literature and at the same time for raising the ability to appreciate traditional Korean culture. I hope students will find the aesthetic value of Pansori novels and improve their cultural knowledge along with the ability to learn and discuss them and evaluate its value. I am certain that quality of class will improve much more when a teacher and students take part in class with interest.
