특수목적영어(ESP)를 통한 교양영어교육의 활성화방안 연구－공학계열에 있어서 미국공학기사(FE) 프로그램을 중심으로 = A Study on Activating General English Education through ESP－Centered around Fundamental Engineering Exam Plan in Engineering Colleges

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In this article, three suggestions are proposed for activating general English education. Firstly, basic English for major courses should be taught in alignment with general English education. Secondly, various English subjects based on convergence education should be provided to students to expand the opportunities of learning English. Thirdly, students should be educated in ESP in conjunction with major courses. Based on the third suggestion of learning ESP, acquiring the Fundamental Engineering License of United States by studying ESP of engineering colleges is proposed.
Various types of majors such as main majors, minor majors, dual majors and linked majors are available in universities today. The education of ESP in conjunction with various majors will contribute to reinforcing students' competency as a useful apparatus, academic and practical. In the case of learning ESP through Fundamental of Engineering examination plan, the studies of majors, sub-majors and ESP in conjunction with majors and sub-majors will help students acquire the Fundamental of Engineering license, contributing to students' competency reinforcement.
