국문 초록 (Abstract)

디자인의 도발을 통해 미래를 시험해 보다:
제 강연은 디자인의 도발로부터 ‘문맥상의 통찰력’을 끌어내는 데 있어서 우리가 사용하는 방법론을 살펴볼 것입니다. 프로브 프로그램은 논의와 반응 의견을 북돋우기 위해서 발표되는 미래의 생활 양식 시나리오를 발전시키기 위해 준비되었습니다. 이 강연은 어떠한 연구 범위들을 선택하는지의 과정과 함께, 다양한 학문 분야를 지원하는 프로브 팀에 참여하고자 하는 개인들의 선택, 다시 말해서 방법론적 충돌이 창조적인 긴장으로 변모하는 과정을 살펴보게 될 것입니다. 이 강연은 미래 시점에서 보는 음식, 변화하는 실내 인테리어, 지속 가능한 고층 건물 주거지, 인체 내에 투입 가능한 전자 응용 프로그램의 소비자 가능성 등을 조사 탐색한 사례 연구들을 참조하게 됩니다.

Testing the Future through design provocation:
My Talk will look at the methodology we use for deriving ‘contextual insights’ from design provocations. The Probe Program was set up to develop far future lifestyle scenarios that are published to stimulate debate and feedback The talk will look at the process of selecting ‘research domains’ and the selection of individuals to participate in multi-disciplinary probe teams - a process of converting methodological conflict into creative tension. The talk will refer to case studies of probe explorations into the future of Food, meta- morphic domestic interiors, high rise sustainable habitats and the viability of consumer electronic applications within the human body.
