글로벌·다문화 시대에서 도덕과교육의 과제

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 글에서는 세계교육과 다문화교육에 관한 문헌 검토를 통해 세계교육과 다문화교육이 공통적으로 강조하고 있는 개념을 도덕과교육에 용해ㆍ적용하는 방안을 모색하고자 하였다. 세계교육과 다문화교육은 공히 다양성 안에서의 통일성을 확보하려는 교육적 시도이다. 두 교육은 인간의 상호 의존성과 문화 간 이해 및 협력의 중요성을 무엇보다도 강조하고 있으며, 동시에 사회 변혁의 중요성을 함축하고 있다. 그러므로 이러한 공통 개념에 근거한 도덕과교육은 내용 및 교수ㆍ학습 과정에 있어서 다양성 및 인권의 존중, 유연하고 복합적인 정체성, 간문화 역량, 공동 책임과 참여 의식을 중시해야 한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

"Multicultural education and global education have many commonalities. Both involve a process whereby individuals develop knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behaviors for participating effectively in a culturally diverse society. When combined, multicultural education and global education can be seen as two parts of the same theme of how individuals, groups, and institutions can work together to build a better world locally, nationally, and internationally. In this paper, I tried to review related literature on global education and multicultural education, to identify shared goals and objectives of both global education and multicultural education, and to apply them to the content and teaching & learning process of moral education in the schools. In the global and multiculral era, moral education in the schools has to emphasize respect of diversity and human rights, flexible and complex identities, intercultural competence, and sense of co-responsibility and participation.
