This study examines speculative urbanism as a way of life, particularly as a mode of reproduction, to analyze its theoretical intersection with reproductive futurism. It explores how the future is envisioned through posterity—embodied in the Child—and materialized in urban space. While existing literature on speculative urbanism has largely centered on the capitalization of urban development, it has overlooked reproduction as a crucial mechanism that sustains speculative logic. In response, this study critically incorporates reproductive futurism to demonstrate how the temporal logic of speculative urbanism is inherently entangled with the enactment of a normative future and the reinforcement of social order. To this end, it proposes fictional certainty, affective investment, and childhood as speculative spectacle as key conceptual intersections, examining how urban space is structured to project the particular, desirable future while reproducing social stratification. By adopting this approach, the study expands the conceptual framework of speculative urbanism and offers a critical lens for envisioning alternative futures.
