국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 외국인 유학생이 문화적 맥락이 포함된 글쓰기를 수행할 때 기계 번역을 어떻게 활용하며, 번역 과정에서 발생하는 오류를 어떻게 인식하고 수정하는지를 분석하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 번역–역번역 활동, 번역 전후 편집 전략을 포함한 교수·학습 과정을 실제 대학의 학술적 글쓰기 수업에 적용하였다. 연구 결과 학습자들은 문화적 의미가 충분히 반영되지 않는 번역 결과, 직역으로 인한 어색한 표현, 문장 구조와 종결어미의 불일치 등 다양한 오류를 스스로 확인하였다. 또한 강의 후에는 문장 단순화, 어휘 선택 조정, 문화 정보 보완, 접속사 사용 확대 등 구체적인 수정 전략을 적용하여 글의 정확성과 응집성을 향상시켰다. 이러한 결과는 기계 번역 리터러시 교육이 번역 결과에 대한 비판적 검토 능력과 쓰기 능력을 강화하는 데 효과적임을 보여 준다. 본 연구는 실제 수업 적용을 통해 AI 활용 한국어교육의 구체적 모델을 제시했다는 점에서 의의를 갖는다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aims to analyze how international students utilize machine translation when performing writing tasks involving cultural contexts, and how they recognize and correct errors occurring in the translation process. To this end, teaching and learning processes—including back-translation activities and pre/post-editing strategies—were applied to actual academic writing classes at a university. The results showed that learners independently identified various errors, such as translation outcomes insufficiently reflecting cultural meanings, awkward expressions due to literal translation, and inconsistencies in sentence structure and sentence-final endings. Additionally, after instruction, they applied specific revision strategies—including sentence simplification, vocabulary adjustment, cultural information supplementation, and expanded use of conjunctions—to enhance the accuracy and coherence of their writing. These findings demonstrate the effectiveness of machine translation literacy education in strengthening critical review skills for translation outputs and writing proficiency. The significance of this study lies in presenting a concrete model for AI-utilizing Korean language education through real classroom application.
