복막투석 도입기의 투석액 용량 조절에 따른 합병증에 대한 분석적 연구 = An Analytic Study on Complications according to Dialysate Volume Adjustment in the Introduction Period for Peritoneal Dialysis

After analyzing complications according to dialysate volume adjustment in the introduction period for 152 adult peritoneal dialysis patients who have been operated on catheter insertion at the K hospital during Jan. 1989-Dec. 1991 and Jan.1994-May 1995, the effective and useful approaches have been seeked. As increasing the volume of dialysate, the raw data have been collected through direct clinical observations and the records of the peritoneal dialysis room. Then, the data have been classified according to the complications related with catheter and have been narratively described.
Among the total 152 patients, the catheter related complications are as follows:
The dialysate leakage cases were 12, the hernia cases were 2, the exit-site bleeding cases were 10, the peritonitis cases were 5, the catheter dislocation cases were 5, the exit-site infection case was 1, and the catheter occlusion cases were 2. The complications in the introduction period of peritoneal dialysis have been reduced with the careful planning of peritoneal dialysis schedule according to each patient's overall conditions including physical and medical facets.
