초등교사의 음악과목과 교사교육에 대한 인식 조사 = Survey of Elementary Teachers' Perceptions Regarding Music Subject and Teacher Education

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to investigate elementary teachers' perceptions regarding music subject and pre-service and in-service teacher education. The 24 questions were categorized in four: 1) perceptions of pre-service teaching programs, 2) perceptions of work challenges, 3) perceptions of work reward, and 4) current professional needs. 78 elementary teachers in Seoul, Gyeonggi-do, Chungcheongbuk-do were participated and divided in three groups by pre-service teacher education periods. The results showed that the current elementary teachers perceived that pre-service teacher education programs were not enough provided to teach music effectively in the music classrooms. The teachers answered that maintaining energy all the time in music classes and teaching with inadequate resources were most difficult works. Also, it was identified that the teachers felt pressed when they taught instrumental classes and Korean traditional music. The findings suggest that pre-service teacher education need to provide various programs including methods of music material usage. In-service teacher education needs to strengthen programs of teaching strategies for instrumental classes.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 음악과목과 교사교육에 대한 현직 초등 교사들의 인식을 조사하여 초등학교 음악교육의 질적 향상과 효율적인 수업을 위한 제안을 하는 것이 목적이다. 78명의 현직 초등학교 교사를 대상으로 설문조사를 하였으며 설문지는 총 27문항으로 이 중 24 문항은 크게 네 개의 범주, 1) 대학교 교과과정, 2) 업무의 난이도, 3) 음악을 가르치는 일에 대한 보람과 자부심, 4) 음악을 가르치는데 도움을 주는 활동으로 구성되었고 나머지 세 문항은 교사들이 자신들의 생각을 자유롭게 적는 서술 형태로 되어있다. 연구 결과에 의하면 가장 부족한 대학교 교과과정은 자료 활용과 관련된 프로그램으로 나타났다. 적절하게 제공된 프로그램은 교수방법과 관련된 프로그램으로 나타났으며 업무의 난이도에 관한 질문에는 항상 에너지와 열정을 갖고 수업에 임하는 것이 가장 어려운 일이라는 답변이 많았다. 음악을 가르치는 일에 대한 보람을 느낄 때는 학생들이 음악과목에 열정을 보일 때인 것으로 나타났으며, 음악 수업에 도움을 주는 활동으로는 가르치는 경험을 많이 쌓는 것이 가장 좋은 방법이라고 인식하고 있었다. 자료 분석결과를 통해 다음과 같은 제안을 한다. 예비교사 교육은 기본적인 내용은 유지하되 시대의 흐름과 교육 과정의 변화에 부응하는 새롭고 다양한 프로그램들이 보충되어야 하며, 음악수업 시간에 필요한 자료 활용 방법에 대한 교육이 필요하다. 학생들의 음악시간 참여도를 높이기 위해서 선호도가 높은 음악을 적절히 사용하기를 제안한다. 또한, 현직 교사를 위한 교육은 실기지도를 배울 수 있는 프로그램 강화와 실질적인 도움을 주는 프로그램을 통해 교사가 지속적인 공부를 할 수 있도록 도와야 한다.
