Chinese Path to Modernization: A Historical Materialist Critique and Deconstruction of the “End of History” Thesis

In the practice of Chinese-style modernization, the “End of History” thesis has gradually been forced to descend from the distant realm of ideals to the real world. The edifice of historical nihilism of the “End of History” thesis can no longer be constructed on the foundation centered around “Western-centrism”. History and reality have fully proven that the history of socialism and the theory of communism have not ended as presupposed by the “End of History” thesis. Chinese-style modernization is not only a concrete crystallization of the development path of socialism with Chinese characteristics but also realizes the critique and transcendence of the “End of History” thesis from multiple dimensions of ontology, methodology,axiology, and praxeology. It reshapes the global modernization narrative paradigm and opens up a new channel for the progress of human civilization. Exploring the critique and transcendence of the “End of History” thesis by Chinese-style modernization is of great theoretical significance for deeply grasping the connotation and essence of Chinese-style modernization, strengthening historical confidence, and refuting Western ideological attacks. It also has important practical significance for us to firmly adhere to the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
