      The purpose of this study is to develope the geological field course in Hwasun region and apply them to the geological related units for elementary science education. The 13 observation sites for the field geology learning in study area include various rocks(schist, granite, tuff, conglomerate, sandstone, shale and andesite), geological structure(fault, fold, graded bedding, ripple mark, sun crack and intrusion), fossil(plant and foot print), weathering phenomenon changing rock to soil, and erosion and deposition phenomenon in river.
      On account of fresh outcrops, convenience access to outcrops and distribution of various geological learning materials as rocks, structures and fossils, this study area is suitable place for the field geology learning of elementary science education in Kwangju and Chonnam province.
