성, 성역할 정체감이 직업적 성 고정관념에 미치는 효과 : 초등학교 고학년 학생을 대상으로 = The Effect of Gender-Role Identity and Sex on The Occupational Sex-Stereotype -on 5～6th Grade Elementary School Students-

국문 초록 (Abstract)

성역할 정체감과 직업과 관련된 성 고정관념은 아동기에 형성되며, 특히 직업적 성 고정관념은 아동기부터 성인에 이르기까지 전 연령층에서 나타난다. 그리고 이 두 변인은 향후 진로선택에 강하게 영향을 미친다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 우리나라 초등학교 아동의 성역할 정체감 양상을 파악하고 생물학적 성, 성역할 정체감, 학년 변인이 직업에 대해 갖는 성 고정관념에 미치는 효과에 대하여 살펴봄으로써 아동의 진로교육에 대한 시사점을 제공하고자 한다. 이를 위하여 1,000명의 초등학생을 대상으로 성별, 학년별, 성역할 정체감 유형과 직업에 대한 성 고정관념에 대하여 분석하였다. 분석결과, 성과 성역할 정체감 유형은 어느정도 관련성을 나타내었으나 학년과는 유의미한 관련성을 보이지 않았다. 반면에 직업적 성 고정관념 수준은 성별, 학년별로 유의미한 차이를 나타내었고, 생물학적 성 뿐만 아니라 성역할 정체감에 따라서도 직업적 성 고정관념에 차이를 보였다. 본 연구결과는 아동기의 성역할 정체감 형성이 진로교육의 주요한 영역으로 다루어져야 함을 시사하고 있다.

Children’s gender-role identity and the occupational sex-stereotype are shaped in early childhood. Especially the occupational sex-stereotype continues for a long time and it strongly affects their career choice thereafter. Through the study, I aimed to examine differences between gender-role identity and sex, grade on the occupational sex-stereotype of elementary school students. To analyze the aspect of gender-role identity in Korean elementary school students, this study utilized 1,000 Korean elementary school students in the age range of 12 to 13. The effect of gender-role identity and sex, grade on the occupational sex-stereotype of elementary school students of the sample was analyzed. In this study, the type of gender-role identity by sex was significantly different, but the type of gender-role identity by sex, grade wasn’t significantly different. Furthermore, sex, grade and gender-role identity had an effect on the occupational sex-stereotype. In conclusion, in early childhood, the formation of gender-role identity has to get a bigger write up in career education.
