    The 21st-century battlefield, defined by AI and multi-domain operations, reveals the limitations of traditional, platform-centric jointness against asymmetric threats. This paper argues for a paradigm shift toward 'Adaptive Jointness,' redefined as 'Software-Defined Jointness' that prioritizes flexibly reconfiguring capabilities through data and networks, not fixed hardware. To achieve this, the study proposes four strategic directions. First, adopting 'Mosaic Warfare' to create a distributed, composable, and resilient force. Second, 'Combinatory Innovation'—integrating AI with legacy systems—as a cost-effective strategy. Third, the 'Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA)' as the technical foundation for 'plug-and-play' upgrades and data-centric interoperability. Finally, a policy-level transformation into a 'Software-Defined Defense Ecosystem' to overcome the 'Valley of Death' in acquisition. This research concludes these four pillars are essential for achieving true 'Adaptive Jointness' in the evolving security environment.
