Recently, as environmental problems and the need for carbon neutrality have increased, forest management is transitioning from area-based to individual tree-based approaches. Traditional area-based methods(ABA), involving sampling plots, face challenges in comprehensive application and decreased reliability. In order to compensate for these shortcomings, this study determined the optimal individual tree detection(ITD) algorithm and parameters based on airborne laser scanning(ALS) that can be applied to forest type based experimental districts in Bugok District of Chiaksan National Park. To further improve traditional plot surveys, we integrated terrestrial laser scanning(TLS) and drone laser scanning(DLS) data. The results of this study demonstrate that LiDAR technology can generate reliable individual tree-unit data in forest resource surveys, contributing to construction of digital twin for forest resource management.
