Mobile mapping systems(MMS) are essential for HD-road mapping and smart city projects. This study evaluated the quality of MMS data in crowded urban areas characterized by high traffic volume and high buildings. The effects of base station distance, constellations, SLAM and Cloud-to-Cloud application on MMS data were analyzed. It was confirmed the shorter the distance between the MMS data and the base station, the better the accuracy and precision of the data, and the quality is improved when the base station includes more constellations. If the distance is far and constellations are limited, the quality is improved by applying SLAM and Cloud-to-Cloud. Therefore, to secure the quality of MMS in an urban area, it concludes that the data quality is improved if a base station is installed near the data. If it is difficult to install a base station, it is judged that applying SLAM and Cloud-to-Cloud can improve data quality.
