배우자폭력 재발방지를 위한 문제중심 개입의 한계와 대안으로서 ‘좋은 삶 모델’의 고찰’

국문 초록 (Abstract)

배우자폭력을 방지하기 위한 법적 대응이 시작된 지 약 15년이 지난 현재에도 배우자 폭력은 지속되고 폭력 행위의 재발 방지를 위해 유효한 심리사회적 개입은 많지 않은 형편이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 행위자를 위한 기존의 많은 심리사회적 모델들이 결핍, 병리, 역기능 등 문제를 중심으로 하는 개입의 한계를 검토하고, 그 한계를 극복하기 위한 관점의 전환을 위한 대안을 강점관점 접근에서 찾고 특히 행위자의 전인적 삶의 회복과 위험요인의 방지를 목적으로 하는 "좋은 삶 모델"을 소개하였다. 구체적으로 첫째, 문제중심 접근의 특성과 행위자에 대한 이해를 강점관점 접근과 대비하여 그 이론적 전제, 인간관, 현실과 문제에 대한 이해, 개입의 특성 등을 살펴보았다. 다음으로 둘루스 모델을 비롯하여 기존의 대표적인 문제중심 개입법들의 특성과 재발률을 중심으로 한 효과성 및 개입방법 등에서의 한계를 검토하였다. 실험설계에 기초한 문헌들을 중심으로 본 결과 비교집단이나 통제집단에 비해 실험집단의 효과차이가 중간 이하였다. 따라서 행위자를 중심으로 한 심리사회적 개입 연구에서 고려할 사항을 정리하고, 문제중심 개입의 대안으로 강점관점 개입의 필요성을 제안하였다. 특히 행위자의 폭력연구 분야에서 개발되고 있는 ‘좋은 삶 모델’의 전제, 원칙, 개입의 특징을 소개하고 기존의 심리사회적 개입과의 관련성을 고찰하였다.이러한 검토를 토대로 배우자 폭력 행위자를 위한 강점중심의 개입 방안을 제언하였다

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Although legal remedies have developed against spousal violence for last 15 years, it still has been persistent and not many interventions are effective in preventing recidivism. Thus, this study investigated limitations of existing psychosocial interventions focusing on the perpetrator"s deficits, pathology, dysfunctions; suggested a shift in the perspective from problem-focused to strengths-based approach; and introduced the ‘Good Lives Model’ being developed for violent offenders to prevent recidivism and to achieve a self-fulfilling, good life. Specifically, first, this study reviewed characteristics of problem-focused approach to the perpetrator compared to the characteristics of approach from the strengths perspective; and investigated the effectiveness surrounding recidivism rates and limitations of the existing problem-focused interventions. As a result of reviewing such effectiveness studies based on the experimental design, for the problem-focused interventions including the Duluth model, the treatment effect size was below the medium (<.05) comparing the treatment group with the control group in terms of recidivism rates. Therefore, considerations were noted for further intervention research using strengths-based models and necessity of strengths based intervention was suggested. Finally, this study introduced theoretical assumptions, empirical foundations, and intervention process, and comparative benefits of the "Good Lives model" as an alternative model based on strengths perspective. According to these examinations and discussions, this study suggested alternative ways of developing strengths-based psychosocial interventions for perpetrators applying the GLM in terms of education of the practitioners, research, and collaboration with legal and probation systems.
