국립국악원의 전통공연예술자료 수집현황과 전망 －국악아카이브 수집현황을 중심으로－

국문 초록 (Abstract)

국립국악원은 국내외의 국악자료 수집, 체계적 관리와 가치 제고, 대외 활용 확산을 목적으로 2007년부터 국악아카이브 사업을 시작했다. 이후 아카이브 운영근거를 마련하 고 자체예산 및 인력, 자료보존공간을 확보했다. 현재까지 자료수집, 디지털자료 보존인 프라 증설, 아날로그자료의 디지털화, 온라인 콘텐츠 서비스를 지속적으로 추진하고 있 다. 현재는 약 21만점의 자료를 보유하고 있으며 이 중 6만5천여 점이 디지털자료다. 국 악아카이브 홈페이지에서는 8만여 점의 국악자료에 대한 세부정보와 1,700여 점의 동영 상 및 음향콘텐츠를 서비스하고 있다. 국악아카이브가 보유한 개인 컬렉션은 모두 26종인데 시기적으로 1500년대부터 현재 에 이르는 기간 동안의 기록이다. 내용으로 보면 이혜구ㆍ김천흥 등 대표적인 음악학자와 명인ㆍ명무들의 기록과 연주, 춤, 민간의 향토민요 등을 망라하고 있다. 수집자료 중 일부 는 일본, 미국, 캐나다, 독일 등 국외에 소재했던 것들이 포함되어 있다. 세부정보가 없거나 부족한 기록물에 대한 메타데이터를 확보하고, 저작권이 모호한 자료에 대한 권리관계에 대한 확인이 국악아카이브에 요구되는 과제 중 하나다. 또한 민 간이나 국외에 소장된 중요 기록물을 보다 적극적으로 수집할 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 나아가 변화하는 온라인 환경에 맞춰 다양하고 고도화된 서비스를 제공하여 보다 이용편 의와 효율을 높여야할 대내외적인 요구를 맞이하고 있기도 하다. 변화하는 환경에 부응 하는 적절한 노력을 지속적으로 기울일 때, 세계수준의 디지털아카이브로써 국악아카이 브가 자리매김할 것으로 기대한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The project for archiving gugak, the Korean traditional music and dance, in National Gugak Center has started in 2007. It involves collection of gugak related material and its systematic management for a service to the public. The securing of operating basis such as budget, human resource, and storage facility followed soon after. The archive keeps collecting, increasing of storing infra for digital files, digitizing process, and the public service on internet so far. Currently, it stores all 210,000 entities and 65,000 of them are in digital files. Also, the archive's homepage provides the metadata of 80,000 files as well as 1,700 video and audio contents streaming to the public. The archive also has 26 individual collections from donations. The time period of the material expends from the 15th century and to the modern days. The collection includes documents and recordings of the master musicians and dancers such as Lee Hyegu and Kim Chunheung as well as folk songs which sung by the common people. Some of the material were taken outside the country and returned from Japan, U.S., Canada, Germany, and so on. Some of the most important tasks for the National Gugak Center's archive are gathering metadata for the files without or less detailed information, and clarifying the ambiguous copy rights. Also, more activities are required on collecting data from the individuals and overseas. Adapting and following up with today's ever-changing IT environment is another key issue for enhanced efficiency and service as well.
