호주원주민 전통문화의 현대적 수용 및 시사점 - 전통놀이와 스포츠를 중심으로 - = Modern Acceptance and Suggestion of Traditional Aboriginal Culture in Australia - Among Traditional Aboriginal Games and Sports -

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study explores modern society’s acceptance and suggestion of the traditional Aboriginal culture in Australia. Although Australian Aboriginal culture includes a number of practices ceremonies centered on belief in the Dream-time, Aboriginal people were displaced from their ways of life to assimilate into Western culture after 18th-century settlement of the British.
Nowadays, there is more done to ensure the survival of traditional Aboriginal cultural heritage for strengthening Australia’s national identity, social inclusion and economic benefits. In particular, traditional Australian games and sport would provide all Australian peoples with an opportunity to learn about, appreciate and experience unique aspects of Aboriginal culture. The consequence of this study suggests that ancient traditions and mysterious storytelling would be an integral part of the way of the promotion and development of traditional cultural contents in Korea.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 논문은 호주원주민 전통문화의 현대적 수용양상과 전통문화 복원과 계승 발전에 대한 시사점을 도출하는 데 목적을 두었다. 4,000년 이상 된 원주민 전통문화가 18-19세기 호주 백인의식민지 시대를 거쳐 철저히 파괴되었다. 그러나 호주 국가정체성 확립과 사회통합, 그리고 원주민 문화예술의 고고학적, 역사적, 교육적 가치 등이 국제사회와 학자들에게 큰 관심을 받게 되면서 원주민 전통문화를 현대적 감각에 맞게 수용하고 발전시키는 과정을 살펴보는 것은 매우 중요한 연구로 대두되고 있다. 특히 본 연구는 오늘날 다문화 한국사회에 무분별하게 유입되고 있는 팽배한 외래문화로 인해 경시되는 한국 전통문화의 고부가가치 문화콘텐츠창출 기회에 대해 중요한 시사점을 제시하고 있다. 21세기 다문화사회에 혼합적 비전 제시가 가능한 전통문화콘텐츠 개발을 위해 고대와 현재, 미래를 이어주는 신비함에 대한 스토리텔링과 다양한 문화장르를 포괄적으로 수용하는 융합적 전통문화콘텐츠 연구가 절실히 필요한 것으로 보인다.
