전주시 옛 성곽터 가로공간의 건축적 특성 분석과 정비방안 연구 -도시내 옛 북문과 서문사이 가로의 건축물 분석을 중심으로- = A Study on the Characteristics and Design Criteria of Buildings at Old Citadel Street in Chonju City

The purposes of this study were to analyze the characteristics of buildings and to suggest design stategies for the street space especially focused building elevation at old citadal street in Chonju city. The importance of preservation of the historic building is emphasized in the urban spaces. Many historic and cultural remains are located in this city and many tourists visit these places. Though the old citadel was entirely destroyed except south great gate (Pung-Nam-Mun), it's lay-out can be inferred ; when the city planning was executed in 1930s, new street system was established by grid. At that time, old citadel was substituted by new road. To make the street vital and distinctive, it must be considered to analyze the histoic and physical context.
