    The results of changes of hair cuticle structure, tensile strength and elongation rate of hair according to treatment of hair protect agent before and after permanent hair dyeing through scanning electron microscope were as fellows. The hair cuticles by permanent dyeing hair indicated damage of gap, fall off and dissolve. Hair cuticles according to hair protect agent treatment before and after hair dyeing was lower hair cuticle damage than non treated with hair protect agent. Protect effects of hair cuticle according to protect agent that it appeared in the sequence duplicate treated with protect agent before and after hair dyeing, before hair dyeing, and after hair dyeing in turn. In the case of hair strength, strength of dyed hair appeared lower than virgin hair, and different of hair tensile strength according to hair protect agent treatment that it appeared duplicating treatment before and after hair dyeing, before hair dyeing, and after hair dyeing in turn. The hair elongation rate according to treatment of hair protect agent was significant difference (p<.01).
