    The purpose of this paper is to analyze Sukhyangjeon by focusing on the characters’ feelings. Based on the narrative of Sukhyang and Lee Sun, Sukhyangjeon was produced in the 17th century and was quite famous. The work’s five tales of Sukhyang’s torture stand out in particular, and the conversation was held while keeping in mind that the narrative’s progression is significantly influenced by the feelings of Sukhyang and a number of other characters.
    Emotions including sadness, fear, love, jealousy, timing, wrath, and compassion were all widely conveyed in Sukhyang’s difficulties through the actions, words, and narrators’ speech. Furthermore, it was verified that Sukhyang’s difficulties were caused by the emotion that predominated at the beginning of the gohaengdam. In summary, emotions play a significant role in “Sukhyangjeon”.
    One possibility regarding the relationship between the work and the reader can be raised in light of the significance of emotions in Sukhyangjeon. As is generally known, Sukhyangjeon has long been a favorite among many readers and has been utilized as a textbook in Korean for foreigners. Considering how well the work conveys the characters’ range of emotions, Sukhyangjeon connects with readers in a number of ways. Readers will be able to relate their feelings and works in a number of ways as different emotions are conveyed. It is especially likely that readers of Sukhyangjeon from the Joseon Dynasty, who had recollections of separation and conflict, would have evoked comparable feelings and memories when reading it, and that this process would have sparked interest. In summary, Sukhyangjeon was successful because of the range of emotions it conveyed.
