The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of young children s mathematics ability on mathematics activities based on Project Spectrum. The subjects of this paper was to the 60 five-years children attending N child-care center and H child-care center in Gwangju.
To assess young children s mathematics ability, Kim Ji-young(2004) s mathematics ability scale was utilized. Experimental treatment uses small group or large group with free optional activity by 3 times for 6 weeks from February 23 to April 2, 2009. According to the results, experimental group showed a statistically significant high score enhancement compared with control group in young children s mathematics ability. Therefore, it suggests that mathematics activities based on Project Spectrum can be available as the effective for improving the
children s ability of mathematics.
