동성애 관계의 파트너 폭력 피해에 영향을 미치는 요인 = Influential Factors on Victimization of Partner Violence in Homosexual Relationships

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 우리나라 동성애자들의 파트너 폭력 피해실태 및 파트너 폭력에 영향을 미치는 요인을 파악하여 사회적 편견과 파트너 폭력이라는 부정적 경험으로 이중적 낙인감을 느끼는 동성애자들을 위한 사회복지적 개입방안을 마련하기 위해 기초자료를 제공하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구대상은 20세 이상 42세 이하 게이와 레즈비언 199명으로, 구조화된 설문지를 통하여 조사하였으며 SPSS 14.0을 이용하여 분석하였다. 자료분석 결과, 첫째, 동성애 관계의 파트너 폭력의 피해율은 심리적 폭력의 발생률이 가장 높았으며, 성적 폭력을 제외하고는 게이보다 레즈비언의 피해율이 더 높았다. 둘째, 게이의 심리적 폭력은 성폭력 경험, 중요한 타인의 지지, 교제기간, 커밍아웃 및 거주형태가, 신체적 폭력은 교제기간, 중요한 타인의 지지와 커밍아웃이, 성적 폭력은 성폭력 경험과 교제기간이 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 레즈비언의 경우 심리적 폭력은 거주형태, 관계평등, 교제기간, 내면화된 동성애혐오증 및 커밍아웃이, 신체적 폭력은 교제기간과 커밍아웃이, 성적 폭력은 교제기간, 성폭력 경험, 친구지지가 영향을 미쳤다. 신체적 폭력과 심리적 폭력에 영향을 미치는 요인 중 게이와 레즈비언 모두에게서 공통적으로 나타난 교제기간, 커밍아웃은 교제기간의 확대가 폭력발생을 가져오는 역학관계와 커밍아웃이 폭력 피해와 어떤 인과관계가 있는지에 대해 보다 심도 있는 후속연구가 필요함을 보여주었다. 아동기 성폭력 피해경험 또한 두 동성애 집단의 성적 폭력 피해와 일관된 관계를 보여주어 아동 성학대 예방을 위한 일반적 노력은 물론, 동성애 관계의 성적 폭력에 개입할 때 외상적 경험으로서의 아동기 성폭력 경험에 대한 접근의 중요성을 시사하고 있다. 끝으로 본 연구결과 나타난 공통적 요인과 함께 게이와 레즈비언의 파트너 폭력 피해를 설명하는 상이한 요인들은 동성애자 파트너 폭력 개입 시, 게이와 레즈비언 집단별로 차벌화된 접근이 필요함을 시사하고 있으며 더 크게는 파트너 폭력에 대한 이성애자 중심의 선입견을 탈피할 것을 제안하고 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The present study investigated victimization rates of partner violence and explored factors influencing partner violence in same-sex relationships to suggest intervention programs and to extend the current understanding of partner violence issues among homosexuals who are under the dual stigma associated with sexual orientation and partner violence. 101 gay men and 98 lesbian women chosen from a convenience sample, using the snowball method, completed questionnaires. Data were analyzed with SPSS 14.0. The major findings of this study were as follows: First, the level of psychological violence was the highest among them and victimization rates was more prevalent among lesbians than gay men. Second, in gay men`s relationships, CSA experiences, support from significant others, relationship duration, coming out, and residential type made significant contribution to victimization of psychological violence. Factors which were significantly associated with physical violence were relationship duration, support from significant others, and disclosure of sexual orientation. CSA experiences and relationship duration made unique contributions to sexual violence. Third, in lesbian case, type of residence, relationship equality, relationship duration, internalized homophobia, and disclosure of sexual orientation were found as significant factors of psychological violence. Relationship duration and disclosure of sexual orientation were proved to have significant effects on physical violence. Relationship duration, CSA experiences, and support from friends were found to exert significant impacts on sexual violence. In conclusion, the findings from this study confirmed partner violence among homosexuals and impact factors differ from gay men and lesbians.
